Pushkar is a very old city and its existence can be dated to when Lord Brahma sprung up the lake and paid a penance for 60,000 years to get a glimpse of Lord Vishnu. Due to this, there is one and only site for the temple of the Hindu god of creation, Lord Brahma. Many travelers who visit the lake town for this purpose prefer to do on Kartik Poornima as it is the most auspicious and significant day.
Tourists combine both the above activities in their travel plan and visit the sleepy town of Pushkar that comes alive during this season.
