Rajasthan Fair and Festivals showcase the various Phases of Rajasthan

Planning a trip to the colorful city of Rajasthan is worth it. The best time to visit the city is during the festivals as the occasion displays true colors of Rajasthan. Some of the most popular festivals of Rajasthan celebrated in different cities are mentioned below:-

Camel Festival- Camel festival is celebrated every year at Bikaner. The festival is celebrated to honor the role and importance of camels in Rajasthan. The camels are decorated on this occasion and a beauty pageant is held.

Desert Festival-This particular event is celebrated every year in the month of January and February. On this day a display of Rajasthan arts and culture is done in the form of folk music and dancers.

Elephant Festival-Held during the month of Feb and March on the occasion of Holi, it is one of the most popular festivals of colors celebrated in Rajasthan. On this very day a procession of elephants, camels and horses takes place in the city.

pushkar fairPushkar fair- Pushkar, a small holy town in Rajasthan is known for its annual Pushkar fair. The festival takes place for 5 days during Karthik Purnima in the month of October and November. Large numbers of devotees from all over the world visits Pushkar and participate in various rituals and fun filled activities. One such activity includes hot air balloon flights that offer a chance to witness the Pushkar fair while flying high in sky.

Gangaur Festival- The festival is celebrated by the women’s of Rajasthan. On this day goddess Gauri is worshipped and married women ask for a long life of their spouse.

  1. Helpful post! I was actually planning to take part in the Baneshwar Fair Dungarpur 2020. I thought that it was a 2 or 3-day affair. I am glad to know that it will be conducted for 5 days. This will help me in preparing a good itinerary to explore Rajasthan & relish The Maha Kumbh Of Tribals with my best friend.
